Tend My Tears: A Beautiful Poem of Grace

There are spiritual teardrops we cry that no one knows about. These rains have the capacity to flood us.

Tend My Tears

I’ve often had the need for someone to tend my tears. These are not normal tears, but they are the internal cryings that trouble our souls.

For sure, there are spiritual teardrops we cry that no one knows about. These heavy rains have the capacity to flood us. Yet, the Bible tells us how God stores our tears in His bottle, and writes them in His book. When our teardrops fall they might demolish the earth where we stand but this doesn’t mean that God has forgotten us. It’ll only summon His abounding grace.

This is more than poetry, it’s the reality of the one who walks with God. As you walk with Him, and trust Him, He is faithful to reach you where you lay. And capable enough to heal you as you pray.

Here is a poem I wrote to inspire hope in you. May it bless you with the courage to go on, and on. Have a look.

Thou tellest my wanderings: Put thou my tears into thy bottle: Are they not in thy book?

Tend My Tears

Tend my tears, as they polish the earth,

Mend my fears, as a Potter doth dirt.

I’m hurt, my whilst is as a river’s rage,

Watch my way, when my feet engage.

I pray, that You uphold me when I fall,

And that You are near me when I bawl.

As I crawl, that You abide by me,

I pray You see, I pray You see!

I greed, on my pillow in the night,

When stars are silver and the moon is bright.

Hear my music when as birds I sing,

Observe me when my alms I bring!

My King, You are a Lion on a throne,

Be with me when I’m all alone.

Sail with me when the tides are turning,

Avail with me when the sea is churning.

Oh Jah, hear the music that I pray,

Hear this soundtrack that I bray.

My heart is heavy, but Your burden is light,

You will carry me through the heights I plight.

Tend my tears, as they demolish the earth,

I know, I know, that You can play with dirt!

This soulful poem was written in the vicinity of a broken place. Brokenness can make us quite vulnerable, but it can also make us beautiful. As you shed your tears, know that they sing a special melody unto God. The Bible says that He is near to the broken hearted, and that He binds up their wounds. When your hurting is great, know that God is close to you. All you have to do is shed those tears by faith, knowing that your faith will make you whole.

Concluding Thoughts

The Psalmist says “ Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” This Psalm tells of the faithful Presence of our Lord. Even in the storms He will follow you. When your teardrops fall at your feet, know that they are like spiritual nutrients that will help you grow. Keep holding on and never give up. Be Blessed!
