The Joy of the lord is what keeps us going, and also the source of our strength.

Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

It is a wonderful thing to be filled with the joy of the Lord. For one, joy brings us rest and rest renews our strength. Joyful times come with the healing and renewal necessary to keep us going. We must be mindful of this and forever protect and keep our joy.

The enemy knows this very well. And that’s why he constantly attacks us with circumstances that will steal our joy. But we must protect it because it is our strength. We must prioritize on keeping our joy by zoning out unnecessary distractions. Nothing must be more important than preserving a smiling heart.

The following poem tells about the Joy of the Lord and the power it engulfs. As you read, I hope that you will both be encouraged and blessed.

The Joy

The Joy of the Lord is my strength,

It lights my path as I accent.

Im captured by the rapture, lost on a high,

because in my space is just God and I.

This benignity of grace I cannot unfold,

I inflate in splendour and the I Am I behold.

Warming my soul, affecting my wounds,

Im embellished and replenished, in Christ I’m ballooned.

He stretches my smile with no bounds,

Oh what a Joy that fills my surrounds.

That even my tears are crowned with stance,

I’m engulfed in the music of a Heavenly Romance.

Nothing else can take Your place,

You conquer me with Your grace!

Oh Great God, Your Joy gives me strength,

I’ll look to You as I assent.

As you go, don’t be burdened down by the weight of sadness. Constantly remind yourself of the things you can be thankful for – and celebrate in the Joy of the Lord. Be Blessed!
